As a first step in any client relationship, we will invite you to our offices for an initial free consultation, the purpose of which is to determine whether we are able to assist you with your financial needs. This consultation is without charge and without obligation. During this initial meeting, we will also discuss how we would be paid for our services, should you decide to work with us.
There are different ways in which we can be paid: commission, fee or a combination of both.
A commission is paid to us by the product or investment company and is included in their normal charges. The amount of commission is typically based on a percentage of the premiums payable or the sums invested. In this case, there is nothing that you – as our client – need to pay us.
Alternatively, we may quote you a fixed fee as remuneration for our services, which may sometimes take the form of an hourly fee.
In either case, we will always discuss with you and agree upon the most appropriate form of remuneration before we undertake any chargeable work and we will always confirm any arrangements made with you in writing. Rest assured that no charges or fees will be made without ensuring that you are fully aware of exactly how we will be paid for our services.
